The Stormers took a giant step towards the URC playoffs after a nervy 16-12 win over Irish side Connacht in Galway on Saturday evening.

It may not have been a "giant" performance by the Capetonians, who were ill-disciplined for large parts against a plucky Connacht outfit.

The Stormers conceded 11 penalties (Connacht conceded 8) and at one stage this threatened to spoil the evening for John Dobson's charges.
