As the State prepares to push for Jacob Zuma's corruption trial to finally proceed next month, prosecutions boss Shamila Batohi slammed the "Stalingrad tactic" associated with the former president as "one of the greatest risks to rule of law" in South Africa.

She was responding to comments made by Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions Rodney de Kock, who said the NPA wanted criminal trials to proceed, regardless of efforts by accused criminals to challenge the decisions that had led to their prosecutions.
