Throughout South Africa’s democracy, civil society organisations have been at the forefront of advocating a just and more equitable society that lives up to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.

In recent years, civic organisations such as My Vote Counts, the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) and the Council for the Advancement of the SA Constitution (Casac) have been instrumental in safeguarding and advancing the gains of the country’s hard-won democracy.
